Medical Qigong
Medical Qigong is an ancient treasure of Chinese energetic medicine, and is one of the oldest branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). “Qi” means life force energy while “Gong” means practice or skill. Qigong is a venerable system developed in China to increase the movement and absorption of Qi, life force energy.
Medical Qigong gives patients an opportunity to relax deeply into their bodies. As patients are invited to drop into their breath, the Medical Qigong practitioner clears any energetic stagnation from their energetic fields (Wei Qi fields). Effects of Medical Qigong may manifest as sensations of warmth, tingling, coolness, or enhanced energy.
Unresolved emotions can interfere with the breathing process and can affect the smooth flow of Qi and Blood. Like a river congested with debris, chronic emotional blockages can cause energetic formations of turbid Qi. The unrefined Qi then gathers into energetic clusters. Untreated, these energetic clusters begin to take physical form.
Medical Qigong offers a variety of techniques, including energetic purging, energetic tonifying, and energetic balancing. Benefits of Medical Qigong extend to address insomnia, anxiety, chronic fatigue, depression, unprocessed grief, and scar tissues to name a few. Treatments range from 20 minutes to 40 minutes. Based on individualistic needs, healing sounds or Qigong exercises are given to enhance the efficacy of the Medical Qigong therapy.
